Addiction Recovery Support
Guiding individuals through recovery with lived experience, support, and connection.
We connect individuals with certified peer recovery coaches who provide encouragement, guidance, and practical support throughout the recovery process.
Our compassionate coaches offer both one-on-one and group coaching sessions in a variety of settings, including community outings, recovery meetings, and structured sessions at our center.
Peer coaching focuses on strengthening self-awareness, building healthy coping skills, identifying personal goals, and recognizing each individual’s strengths and interests.
Through peer support, individuals gain encouragement, accountability, and connection that help sustain long-term recovery and personal growth.
Peer Transportation
Connecting individuals to recovery support through reliable transportation and peer encouragement.
At Walton Empowers, we recognize that reliable transportation plays an important role in helping individuals stay connected to recovery resources, important appointments, and essential services—especially in rural communities.
Our Peer Transportation program provides safe and dependable rides to recovery meetings, treatment services, medical appointments, interviews, faith-based support groups, school, and other recovery-related commitments.
Each ride also offers encouragement and connection with trained peers who understand the recovery journey through lived experience.
By reducing transportation barriers, we help individuals stay engaged in recovery while building stability, independence, and hope.
Training & Educational Workshops
Building recovery-ready communities through education and equipping communities with the knowledge and tools to support recovery and reduce stigma.
Walton Empowers provides recovery-focused education and training that helps communities better understand substance misuse, reduce stigma, and strengthen pathways to recovery.
Through workshops, certifications, and community education, Walton Empowers equips peers, families, professionals, and community members with practical knowledge and skills to support recovery and lead with compassion.

Family Preservation & Reunification
We understand families’ critical role in protecting their children from the dangers of substance abuse. That’s why we provide resources, training, and more to support families in our local community.
As a peer-led and driven organization, we connect parents with critical drug prevention resources. We can help parents better communicate with their children about substance abuse, providing coordination of services, training, education, and peer support services to assist parents and families in achieving long-term recovery and preventing future DFCS intervention.
Some of our resources include the Parent Support Meeting, which supports all parents in recovery from substance use disorder and gives them a space to converse about recovery topics concerning their children affected by addiction.
We also provide DFCS Collaboration Training, cultivating relationships with the local DFCS Liaison and assisting in interactions and coordination with DFCS, Family Treatment Courts, and meaningful support while participating in collaborative cross-training.
Additionally, we offer Parent Advocacy Services to help parents develop self-directed care plans, strengthen their parenting skills, and manage their recovery while supporting the coordination of parent-child visitation and strengthening bonding between parents and children.
At Walton Empowers, we are committed to empowering families to achieve long-term recovery and prevent future DFCS interventions. Our resources, training, and peer support services provide families the tools and support they need to protect their children and lead healthy, fulfilling lives.
Reentry Services- Forensic Peer Mentors
We understand the importance of supporting individuals returning to their community after being involved in the justice system.
That’s why we’re proud to offer the Forensic Peer Mentor Program, a collaborative initiative between several government agencies and judicial partners that provides innovative support to returning citizens in Georgia.
Our certified and trained forensic peer mentors use their experiences to help individuals facing similar challenges, such as finding stable housing, employment, benefits, reliable transportation, and recovery resources. Through this program, our mentors serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration, offering critical transition resources for reentry and helping to strengthen our community’s workforce.
Empowering Families
Supporting parents and caregivers through prevention, recovery, and connection.
Walton Empowers’ Empowering Families program supports parents and caregivers working toward family stability while navigating substance misuse, recovery, and child welfare systems. Active Parenting Classes
A 6-week Active Parenting class that helps parents strengthen communication, build positive discipline strategies, and develop practical parenting skills.
DFCS & Family Court Support
We work alongside the Department of Family & Children Services, Family Treatment Courts, and community partners to coordinate services and support families navigating child welfare and recovery systems. Our staff and peer recovery coaches provide support during court hearings, family team meetings, and treatment planning, helping parents understand and navigate their case plan requirements, access needed services, and stay focused on recovery and family stability.
Parent Advocacy & Recovery Planning
We assist parents in developing self-directed care plans, strengthening parenting skills, and moving toward family stability.
Through education, peer mentorship, and coordinated support, Empowering Families helps families rebuild stability, strengthen relationships, and move forward together.
Bridge to Community Program
Supporting individuals returning to the community through recovery, connection, and opportunity.
Bridge to Community is a collaborative initiative between Walton Empowers, local government agencies, and judicial partners designed to support individuals reentering the community after incarceration or treatment.
Participants receive peer recovery coaching, connections to employment opportunities and recovery resources, and ongoing peer support as they navigate this critical transition. Our goal is to help each person rediscover purpose, stability, and belonging—because recovery continues through connection and community.
Program Support Includes:
Pre-Court Recovery Referrals
Through our JailATM communication system, funded by the Walton County Jail, individuals who become incarcerated can connect with Walton Empowers prior to their court appearance. Our staff gathers the individual’s information, helps identify an appropriate treatment center, and coordinates an interview with the facility while the individual is still in custody. If accepted, the treatment center provides an acceptance letter, and Walton Empowers ensures the individual’s attorney and the District Attorney receive the documentation so the court is aware that treatment may be available as an alternative to incarceration.
Accountability Court & Drug Court Support
Our team regularly attends local accountability courts and drug court programs to provide peer support and recovery encouragement. Our compassionate coaches offer one-on-one check-ins and group coaching sessions, along with transportation assistance, helping participants stay engaged in recovery, access resources, and successfully meet court program requirements.
Probation, Parole & Community Supervision Referrals
We accept referrals from probation officers, parole officers, and the Department of Community Supervision (DCS) and assist individuals with accessing treatment services, emergency housing referrals, and connecting with peer recovery support as they work toward stability and recovery. Walton Empowers is also an approved community service site, allowing individuals to complete court-ordered or supervision-related service hours while engaging in a supportive recovery-focused environment.
Through these efforts, the Bridge to Community Program helps individuals overcome barriers, strengthen recovery, and successfully reintegrate into their communities.
