Our Origin Story
Founded in 2020 by Courtney Wright and Cathy Beddow, Walton Empowers was created from a shared vision to expand access to peer recovery support. Guided by lived experience, compassion, and strong community partnerships, our team works every day to ensure individuals and families never have to walk the recovery journey alone. Together, we are building a future where recovery is understood, supported, and celebrated.
Our Mission
To provide recovery support to individuals and families through Advocacy, Training, and Peer Support Services.
Our Vision
To cultivate a safe community space that promotes multiple pathways to recovery while reducing the stigma of addiction.
How We Help
Peer Support Services
We connect individuals and families with certified peer recovery coaches, transportation to important appointments, and a supportive community rooted in shared experience.
Advocacy
We advocate for individuals and families navigating recovery by promoting understanding, reducing stigma, and helping people access the resources and support they need.
Training
Through workshops, certifications, and community education, we equip peers, families, and professionals with the knowledge and tools to support recovery and lead with compassion.
What is a
Peer Recovery Coach?
Why We Exist
Recovery thrives when people have access to connection, support, and opportunity. Without community-based recovery support, many individuals and families face barriers that can make the journey more difficult.
-
Increased isolation and barriers to accessing recovery support.
-
Missed opportunities for families to heal and rebuild relationships.
-
Continued stigma surrounding substance use and recovery.
When Support Is Available
-
-
Individuals reconnect with hope, discover purpose, and build healthier futures.
-
Families find support, rebuild trust, and strengthen relationships.
-
Communities become stronger, safer, and more connected as stigma is reduced and recovery pathways expand.
-
